The dropzone

Established in 1955, dropzone Unterzell lies in the middle of the Allgäu region, right below castle Schloss Zeil. It's one of the few airfields still lying in private hands.

Prince von Waldburg-Zeil is not only the castellan but also a passionate aviation athlete. In Leutkirch he had hosted one of the first skydiving world championships in 1964. Landscape wise the dropzone definitely belongs to the most beautiful ones worldwide. The view over the alps is breath taking, no matter if Youre a skydiver or a tandem passenger. While on the climb flight, You'll also have a breath taking view at Lake Constance, located 30km away from the airfield.

Apart from one of Europes most powerfull paratroop droppers, we have an ideal infrastructure on the ground, too. In our 400sqm large hall we're offering rigging service, lots of room for packaging, all rounded up by a cosy lounge, coffee- and vending machines, video and music equipment and an internet café. You're welcome to camp at the dropzone (5 €/day, 100 €/year). Expect excellent sanitation facilities for this purpose. Only a few steps away from the airfiled there are also numerous reasonably priced pensions and hotels for accommodation anyway.
